Terms of Use
Last updated 4 October 2026
These terms apply to your use of sparklingmosaic.com and to any workshop or private event you book with Sparkling Mosaic, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 84431946.
By booking a workshop or using this website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not book — and let us know if anything here is unclear.
Booking a workshop
Confirmation
Your booking is confirmed when you receive a confirmation email from us or from our ticketing provider (MijnEvent or Eventbrite). Please check your spam folder if you do not see it. Your place is only secured once payment has completed.
What is included
Your fee includes the workshop session itself, all materials and tools used during the session, the products you make and take home, and tea and light snacks. It does not include travel to the venue or anything you purchase separately.
Minimum age
Our workshops are designed for adults and are suitable for complete beginners. Where a workshop is suitable for children, the minimum age is stated on the workshop page — the accompanying adult must stay for the full session. Where you book for a group, it is your responsibility to make sure everyone meets the minimum age.
Changing your booking
Please tell us as early as possible if you need to change or transfer your place. You are always welcome to transfer your spot to someone else — just let us know who is coming.
Cancellation by you
- Cancel 7 days or more before the workshop: full refund.
- Cancel within the 7 days before the workshop: no refund, but you may transfer your place to someone else.
Cancellation by us
We need a minimum number of participants to run each workshop. If we do not reach that number we may cancel the session. In that case you will receive a full refund, or an option to transfer to another date — your choice. The same applies if we need to cancel for reasons outside our control, such as illness or venue unavailability.
Your right to cancel
If you book online, you have the right to cancel within 14 days of purchase without giving a reason, and receive a full refund. This does not apply once the workshop date has passed. If you would like to use this right, contact us within 14 days of booking.
Your behaviour at the workshop
Our workshops are relaxed and welcoming. We do ask that everyone:
- treats the host, other participants and the venue with respect
- follows the safety guidance given during the session — in particular our instructions around hot soap and melt-and-pour temperatures
- leaves the workspace in a condition where the next session can use it
We reserve the right to ask a participant to leave if their behaviour is disruptive or unsafe, without a refund.
Allergies, sensitivities and safety
We work with natural, skin-loving ingredients, including essential oils, fragrances, beeswax and various botanical materials. Although we choose ingredients suited to general use, we cannot guarantee that every product is suitable for every skin type.
If you have an allergy, sensitivity or a medical skin condition, please tell us before the workshop so we can adjust the ingredients where we safely can. Workshop products are made for external use only and are not intended for ingestion.
Our products and handiwork
You keep everything you make during the session — that is the point of the workshop. Because these products are handmade rather than commercially produced, small variations between bars, jars and batches are normal and are part of the experience.
Follow the care instructions we give you for the best shelf life. Storage conditions in warm or humid climates affect handmade soap and butter differently to mass-produced products.
Gift cards
Gift cards are valid for 12 months from the date of issue and can be used for any workshop or private event. They are not refundable for cash and cannot be resold. They cannot be applied to products already purchased, unless we agree otherwise.
Private events
Private events are subject to the same workshop terms. We will confirm the date, duration, price and number of participants in writing before the event. If the group size changes materially we may need to adjust the price.
Website content and your use of it
The text, photographs, workshop designs, formulations and teaching materials on this website belong to Sparkling Mosaic. You are welcome to read, print and share the blog posts and DIY recipes for personal, non-commercial use, and to quote or link to them with attribution. Please do not republish our formulations, photographs or course material commercially without permission.
Intellectual property and photographs
We often photograph workshops for our website and social media. Images generally show hands at work, but if you would prefer not to appear in any photograph or social post, tell the host at the start of the session and we will make sure you are not included.
Availability
Dates, times and prices shown on the website or on our ticketing pages may change. We will always show the current price at the point of booking, and the price you pay is the price shown when you complete your booking.
Liability
We take care to make our workshops safe and enjoyable, but we cannot be liable for loss of personal property, or for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited under Dutch law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Netherlands. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your own country. Disputes will first be put to the Amsterdam Consumer Board or an equivalent body in your country; this does not affect your right to take the matter to court.
Problems and complaints
If something goes wrong, please contact us first. We would always rather sort it out with you directly than let it turn into a dispute.
If we cannot resolve it, you can take the matter to the Amsterdam Consumer Board, or the equivalent body where you live, or to a court. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Note: the European Commission online dispute resolution platform closed on 20 July 2025 under Regulation (EU) 2024/3228, so no longer exists. We therefore provide no ODR link.
