Why Soap Making Actually Works for Teams
Here's what I've observed after running team workshops: something shifts when people make things together.
Last month, a tech company of 10 came in. They were a bit awkward at first — you could tell they were used to seeing each other on Zoom calls, not standing around a table choosing between "Lavender Fields" and "Fresh Linen" scents. By the end, they were comparing soap colours, debating the merits of dried flowers vs. no decorations, and actually laughing together.
The thing about making soap (or whipped soap, or body butter) is that it's inherently low-stakes. There's no "winning." Nobody's going to judge your colour choices. And the process is just... relaxing. Farah guides everyone through it step by step, and the conversations happen naturally.
What a Private Team Workshop Looks Like
We run private workshops for corporate groups in Amsterdam-Oost. Here's the vibe:
- 2 hours of making, chatting, and drinking tea
- All materials included — you just show up
- Small groups — we cap at around 12 people so everyone gets attention
- Refreshments — tea and something to nibble on
- Take-home creations — everyone leaves with their handmade products
We've had teams from tech companies, marketing agencies, and even a group of consultants who needed to decompress. The feedback is always the same: "That was actually really fun."
The Space
The workshop space is in a relaxed neighbourhood — not in the touristy centre, which honestly makes it nicer. There are plenty of cafés nearby if the group wants to grab drinks or food before or after. It feels like a local experience, not a corporate checkbox.
